There were some minor outbreaks of camping and hiking withdrawls. We did manage to hold a Court of Honor for the boys who recently earned merit badges and ranks. NOVEMBER
Scout 'O Rama: This is Grand Canyon Council's biggest Scouting event each year. 747 had a booth this year with a great display of Scout books, uniforms, patches, and accessories through the years. Special thanks to those who contributed to our collection for the day! There were tons of great activities for the boys to do at other booths too. OCTOBER Fall Multi-District Camporee: The Firebird District hosted a huge Camporee in Wickenburg this year. Troop 747 was among 1300 other Scouts that participated. Congrats to the Hawk Patrol for winning 2nd place in the log competition. Dolphin Foundry Tour: Over Fall break, the boys got the opportunity to tour the Dolphin Foundry and see how golf clubs are made. Order of the Arrow 2008: We had our first official OA elections in Sepetember. Then, our OA candidates got to participate in the OA Ordeal at the beginning of October. Congratulations to our OA Arrowmen! SEPTEMBER Tigeree 2008: Troop 747 participated in the annual Tigeree. They spent the day teaching Tiger Cubs about flag ceremonies and how to salute the flag and do the Pledge of Allegiance.
